For Mums and Dads

Ashley Montagu refers to touch as the ‘Mother of all senses’. Touch and the interaction that flows with it as you learn all the basic infant massage strokes facilitates attachment and helps you to gain confidence in your early parenting and communication. Classes also incorporate aspects of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, helping you attune to baby and relax at the same time. Resources for new parents are included on Attachment-Crying-Baby wearing.

Infant massage assists the growth and development of baby’s body, mind and spirit. In addition it can bring relief to complaints of colic, constipation, respiratory disorders and sleeping difficulties.  With Infant Massage we use touch, our first language, to enhance our expression of love, caring and respect, to aid in the bonding process.

Instructor Training

Teaching Infant Massage is a rewarding opportunity, promoting well-being and enhancing bonding between infants and their caregivers. You can contribute to this essential communication by becoming a Certified Infant Massage Instructor. 

Infant Massage Australia Inc's WA Branch runs four day Infant Massage Instructor Training Workshops in Mosman park at the Family Nurturing Centre.

Full Accreditation with Infant Massage Australia Inc. is achieved by completing a study module after the four-day workshop.

The Infant Massage Australia Instructor Training Workshops are designed for; Massage Practitioners, Child health nurses, Midwives, Parents and Grandparents, other healthcare professionals and anyone interested in working with families.

Clare Thorp your facilitator has a nursing background with experience encompassing midwifery, psychiatry nursing and Maternal and Child Health (MCH).
